Customer wants incoming call on a DID to ring receptionist (ext200) 3 times, then ring ext 297 3 times, ext 298 3 times and then go to ext 297's mailbox. Is this possible with embedded? Closest I've gotten is putting them all in a huntgroup in that order, setting it to sequential with the ring time at 15 seconds and then putting H500 in source number at ext 297. This works but for some reason having to scroll down to the huntgroup mailbox in Visual voice is unacceptable for them.

That's the best you are going to do with embedded. If it is so unacceptable then they should pay for vmpro.

Make one more user, unconditionally forward it, including hunt group calls, to a shortcode, and make that shortcode Voicemail Collect, "#"297. Make this user the last destination in the sequential hunt group.

Didn't work. Had a bunch of changes to do in a limited amount of time so I didn't spend a bunch of time on it but seems like the call would revert back to the first member in the hunt instead of forwarding to the short code. When I dialed the new user (503) it worked fine so I know the short code is right.

Put the forwarded user in their own sequential group, make that the overflow for the main group

I do it all the time, but I use another group as above, if it isn't working you're doing something wrong :)
