Currently we are running IP Office 5. I'm trying to setup an X-Lite client from my box to IP Office and make outbound/inbound calls.

I have setup the SIP Extension and a user as per this document

There are 2 issues.

1. I cant place any outside calls. It comes back with a 404 not found error !
2. The X-Lite registers itself, then after some time fails to register and times out

Any help is appreciated.

Something is blocking the SIP traffic I imagine, I have registered x-lite a few times and it has worked OK, you should however try 3CX it works better in my experiance (transfer etc) :-)

Also, do you have a valid 3rd party endpoint licence available :-)

what do you mean by 3rd party endpoint license ?

In system licences you should have a licence called "IP End-points" as per page 8 of the doc you posted :-)

yes that is listed as 1 license and is valid

Then something in your configuration/network is wrong as it does work :-)

Make sure that the firewall and/or AV on the PC is off or has the required exceptions in place too :-)

if firewal was the issue 404 not found would not come back. I see this in the trace on IP Office as well.

Im really not sure about the Network.

one doubt i always have is the way the SIP line is setup with LAN1. For the SIP Line i have choosen networktopology usage as None as i was having an issue where LAN1 network topology comes back with the Public IP set to LAN2

Anything that the network topology should be set to ?

Did you try to disable "Direct Media path"?

Disabling Direct Media Path.

How would that help ?

Turn all AV + Firewall Off (even though you are convinced it isn't that) then plug the PC directlty into the systems LAN port, if it works you can change 1 thing at at time until it breaks then you know what the issue is :-)
