This is my 1st installation with IP Office. Have worked quite a bit w/Norstar MICS. I've added 4 analog lines to system. Can't seem to figure out how to configure system such that I can dial 9, access a line pool, and dial out. Can someone shed some light? Also, which manual would I have found this info in? I have searched to no avail. Thanks in advance.

When you have Manager open and you are on the "lines" section then press the help button.
Also search for ARS.

You really should go on a course because you will have major issues.

Why do a lot of Nortel engineers try to program an IPO without evenknowing the basics.
It is a totally different system so you cannot use the Nortel knowledge.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

By _default_ the system is setup to dial 9, and access the available lines in group 0. Plug em in, and it'll work. Hell it has _default_ incoming routing as well.

Yes, I would suggest taking a course. It's 5 days, called a 1225.

AACon - In the UK the default setup is no 9.

The problem is guys that some companies that sold Nortel are now expecting their techs to just "learn" the IP Office. I mean how much different can it be? They have no clue. It is called bad management.

For manager it is a box where you connect phones too.
How hard can it be :)

I mean managers instead of manager.

Thanks very much for the recommendation for the 1225 course. Doing a search on-line, I found it being offered by Catalyst Telecom. Looks like a very attractive means to begin the process of learning this system. Do you have other recommendations for starting this educational process or registering for this particular course is the best starting point. Thanks again.

IPO Hardware & Data Component was pretty good on line course to take too.
