the all users box is checked.
having used 60% CPU time everytime i switched it on for the last 2 days, its now decided to stop. it must have been doing a background defrag.

As far as i can tell, there is no 3rd party defrag software installed, only windows defrag.
If there was an App defraging, then shouldnt it appear in task manager as using CPU time and show read/writes to disk?

im trying to turn off "simple file sharing" in windows xp home sp2.
in xp pro, the setting is in folder options / view tab / and uncheck simple file sharing.
i believe that in xp home the setting is in the same place but you just have to be in safe mode to access it?

i have tried both methods. auto archive and manual archive. my inbox is set to archive all items older than 6 months.
But it says it is archiving, creates all the archive folders and folder stucture in my inbox, but they are all empty.

you need to view all hidden files.
open explorer / tools / folder options / view tab
under hidden files and folders, select "show hidden files and folder"
then uncheck "hide protected operating system files"

First thing id do is try the CD in a different PC. This will see if the CD is faultly, which can happen with even new CD's.
