Hello,

we have a Customer with a cs1000 active. Round about 500 User.
In the first Step, we want to place a ipo v2, connected over SIP or PRI with the cs1k, where the customer can play with the new pbx. At this Point, the v2 will have prefered lic with all the nice features you can have - for 20 or 30 Users.
In the second step we will plase a server Edt. and the question is: can i move the lic to the, than new, server Edt? How long take the Lic Swap normaly by avaya, wherever applicable? 1h, 1d, 1w or 1m ;-) ?

In the knowledgebase or sales portal i can´t find any infos about that. Only in the q&a for rel 9.0 describe the scearion with - "yes, it can be done"...

Why don't you start installing and licensing a primary server and add the IP500V2. Less work and less problems with licensing.

Nevertheless, there is a way to swap licenses from SD Card to Server Edition. Talk to your distri. He should be able to help you. But I don't think you will get the money back for Essential and Preferred Edition licenses that way.

I'm going to agree that it is much easier to start with the SE with the correct LIC than doing a swap when they want to go live with the entire solution.

And ask your Distri for the ASIPP promo, CS1K qualifies for that.

Kind regards

Gunnar

Thanks for replay. I stay onside by you and want to install a SE but our Sales will place in first step a cheap version if the customer won´t the IPO to be her LiveSystem.
At this point i need telling argumant, that we install a SE. And the Licensething is a good one (Essential & Prefered) - i hope ;-)

In the Sales Portal, i can see the cs1k Sales Toolkit, but i have no content to see - so i have no information at this point. I´ll look other way for ASIPP promo.

Moving forward in two steps sounds highly ineffective and expensive.

1. You'll migrate twice
2. You may not get any refund on your licensing from the interim system

Start off in your lab, make it work properly, then do a clean cut [smile]

Here's the link for ASIPP documents
(you need SSO credentials)

IP Office is at the bottom of the document list.

Kind regards

Gunnar
