hey guys,

ive tried setting up a remoteVPN phone several years ago...... which didn't really work that good..... would work for a couple of calls, had to unplug and restart several times during the day, ect......

I now have another chance to use this application, but I really need it to work this time.

current set up.....
IP500v1 R6.1
VMPro
61-IP endpoint licenses (valid)
16-channel VCM migration (valid)
juniper SG5 Firewall/router

have an employee wanting to work from home. the reason they bought this system is for this type of application. they don't want to set up a "site to site" VPN, so I was thinking of using the remoteVPN extn. I am not a pro at setting this up; I cant even get a 4621sw to load the VPN software..... does it even work that way anymore?

I was wondering if I should upgrade the IP500v1 to R8 or R9? this would allow me to have the 2 remote extn's, but I have heard that these are a pain to get working and stay working......

I just need to set up something that is going to work......

any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated!!!

I think im going to try and set up a 4621sw to run the VPN software and connect to/through the juniper SG5 firewall. ive got a user set up and ready to go in the SG5.....

when i plug in the 4621sw phone, for some reason, im not getting the option to set the "SEQ" to 876 during the boot up process. do I have the wrong 46xx files? when I press the * key to set up the phone, I don't even see the SEQ option...... do I need to get a different file or edit the current files?

Press * during startup, then press # untill enter command then press MUTE GROUP #

Bas1234,

thanks a ton..... that seemed to set the SEQ group to 876. it looks like the phone tries to get the 46xxVPN file, but doesn't seem to load? do i need to do anything else?

thanks again,

the phone runs through the setup but when it gets to the 46xxVPN.scr it doesn't load anything? does this mean the file is missing?

Open the scr file with notepad, it contains more files.
