Hello All, I'm a computer hardware tech thrown into communications roll for 18 building 500+ users... no training or documentation for job so sorry for stupid questions.

Question: IS there an easy way in CAT mode to add an extension by basically using an existing extension as a template. This would help me greatly untill I get sent for the proper training required to do this job.

I did inherit the command manual and have taught myself a couple helpful commands 02, 53, 770, and E5, so any help at all would be so so so apreciated.

Unfortunately, there is no copy feature in CAT Mode. If you have a copy of MATWorX studio, you can copy station data. If not, you'll have to do it the long way.

Build the extension in CM 10, set forwarding in E601, E602, and E603. Set key data in CM 9000--where you could copy the information from another extension.

Thanks Doug for all your valuable help! They're going to send me to NEC training sometime this year but untill then I'm on my own because the communications guy just quit with no notice. So sorry for all these stupid questions. Thanks again!!!

EC6 only on the 2000IPS. Systems earlier than the IPS (i.e. IVS and IVS2) do not use CM EC6.

Thanks for all the help! For future reference, I now have our MATWorX 3.61 installed on my PC and am able to connect through dialup to all our systems. I'm comfortable moving around the MATWorX and doing simple things like name changes, adding Ext. to call pickup group, etc.. Untill I go for NEC begining training though I really do appreciate all your help, and this forum. Thanks again!!
