With R7.0.36, want a night option that states:
We are now closed. Please leave a message ......
The actual message is a professionally recorded message file that is much more robust.
I would have a night incoming call route's destination that would transfer to a "night" mailbox.
It appears that pre-recorded files for greetings are only supported on R9.0 and later.
If that is true, how would you implement this option, without having to upgrade to R9.0 and acquire an essential edition license?

Thanks

Craete a AutoAttendant and convert the audio file with the LVMGreeting utility.
Then create a time profile and set it to the open hours.
In ICR add the time profile and for the open hours set the normal day destination.
The default destination would be the newly created AA.
If the customer really want callers to leave a message set as fallback destination a user or group with VM enabled.
You can also create a shortcode like *99/"?User/groupname"/Voicemail Collect/0 if users or groups cannot enable VM during day time and set the default fallback destination to *99.

Intrigant,

Thanks for the reply.
Where I'm getting stuck is the placement of the pre-recorded night message.
My understanding, from IPO docs, is that for R7.0.36, pre-recorded greetings via the LVM Greeting Utility are only supported for AA greeting files.
For R9.0 and up, auto attendant greetings, mailbox greetings, mailbox names and announcements are supported.
As such, with R7.0.36, I can't get my pre-recorded after hours message to work with a user or group greeting.

Am I missing something?

From the "Implementing Embedded Voicemail" manual, 9.0.3

5.7 Using Pre-Recorded Prompts
You can use pre-recorded files as auto attendant greetings. This allows greetings to be recorded by methods other than
through the IP Office phone short codes. For IP Office Release 9.0 and later, you can also use pre-recorded files for
mailbox names, greetings, and announcements.
