Still considering the best telephone options for remote workers who also want remote call control (ie. able to answer/end call).

With the selection of USB headsets available, I know remote call control can be achieved (ie. Jabra Pro 9470 headset) for the call answer/end call feature.

I'm looking for feedback /user experience on whether I should install 9608 G with EHS or IP softphone for these remote users. Likely, they are your typical home user and platform, so deployment considerations are paramount. All remote workers are on VPN so I have options for the set up.

Both set up and operation feedback appreciated.

Update..IPO 9.03, Preferred Edition, Power User enabled for each remote worker.

Then 96xx phones are the best option. If you like it give them headsets with EHS and you will be fine.

Don't use the Remote h323 feature -- just do standard IP phone + VPN.

Second -- hard phones are nice, especially for a remote worker. It makes it feel more like my office and that I am easily able to reach my colleagues over the phone system. On the other hand, USB headsets + soft phones do the same thing, they just aren't "always on" and depend on having a computer stable.
