Phantom Call Issues

We have multiple customers coming from 1 single provider which are all having the same issues. They constantly get phantom calls from "cisco" and I cant seem to find a way to block it within the system. There are is no inbound number associated with these calls, only "cisco". I know that these have got to be coming from the providers routers however they are offering 0 help in fixing this issue. I have tried blocking these calls by created a short code with the feature of "Barred" then creating a call route with "?" in the "Incoming CLI" field. This "fix" appears to have worked for quite some time however it has suddenly stopped working, if it was ever working from the start.

Does anyone else have any input on how I can block calls without having a phone number associated with the call? These calls come from any DID on the PRI.

Thanks in advance and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Ps - The worthless provider is XO Communications.

By the looks of it, you're not alone on this.

(There's no fix in that thread, just a confirmation that you're not crazy [smile])

Did you try to put "cisco" instead of "?" in the ICR?

Kind regards

Gunnar

Thanks Gunnaro. I have found that on multiple systems, the inbound calls only come in on 2 DIDs with the last 4 of 6181 and 0102. None of the systems have these DIDs associated with them so simply blocked calls to those 4 digit DIDs fixes the issue.

I wouldn't call that a solid fix, they still take up channels that you pay for.

Why not routed those calls back to the manager of the Telco company? See if he likes that...:)
(it's his cr@p equipment that makes those calls)

Kind regards

Gunnar

Hah! I should just flood their support number. If only we wouldnt get usage charges...

I'd take those charges to court.
They're phantom calls, made by the provider equipment.

You may lose business, but you sure spent some billable hours figuring this out.
Send them a bill for your services as well.

Kind regards

Gunnar
