Is there a way to make it prompt for a password when using visual voicemail? Customer has IP500 V2 with 6.0 software and VM Pro. But I am interested in the same question on newer releases too.

IP500 V2 8.0 (44) with Voicemail Pro. Default Intuity mode.

Same question....visual voice mail is on and when you press the Message button it goes straight to the mailbox without password. Interestingly, the manual says it should prompt in Intuity mode but it isn't. I tried to take out the V under source code for user at reception 201 and test but it didn't work. Customer wants better security and I don't really want to turn off the visual voicemail feature either.Any other suggestions?

VOicemail Pro on UC110 Module, default Intuity Mode.

V = trusted source. Just want to clarify.......do I need to take out the entire source number eg. VXXX or just the "v"? Also, I tried both editing manually to remove the "v" and to also remove/add source number without the "v". When I press the MESSAGE button for visual voice I'm still getting straight in, no password prompt.

Straight from the Avaya IP Rel 8, Manager 10 Manual:

"V<Caller's ICLID>
Strings prefixed with a V indicate numbers from which access to the users mailbox is allowed without requiring entry of
the mailbox's voicemail code. This is referred to as "trusted source".

For Voicemail Pro running in Intuity mode, trusted source is used for calls from programmable buttons set to
Voicemail Collect and Visual Voice. Other controls are prompted for the mailbox number and then password."

Makes sense that if you remove the "v" it should work. Am I missing something here?

OK, I guess I've given myself away as a Nortel guy being challenged by the many tweaks of the IPO system.

Problem solved.......you must remove the ENTIRE source code for that extension not just the "v".
Remove "VXXX" from Source Code under User.
Now, even with Visual Voice On it will prompt for a password. Much better security.
