Hello,

I just installed 5.0 in all of our ip office units and have also installed the One-X Portal. I am able to use the portal with no problem. However, can someone tell me if the VOIP option is available with this portal version.

The whole reason for me to pay to have the Portal option was having to eliminate installing PM on a traveling employee's laptop. With PM, the employee can use their headset and make a VOIP call. However, I can't find anywhere where the employee can access this option from the browser client version of the One-x Portal for IP Office. The same goes for Telecommuter option.

In anyone knows please advise. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

tlpeter when you mention the "softphone working with 1XP" are you referring to the separate Softphone software or is it incorporated with the new 6.0 1XP like it is included with the Phone Manager Pro.

Thanks.

There will be no softphone within 1 XP!!!
The softphone is a separate application which needs to be installed local on the pc/laptop/client!

But you can then use the softphone with 1XP
1XP can then be used like you are in the office and use it like you have a deskphone but it uses the softphpne to setup a call

See it as a softphone and then using 1XP for call control
Ofcourse you could it with the softphone :)

OK. Thanks. So I guess the ability to use the softphone software with IP Office is new with the 6.0 release. I asked my vendor about using the current softphone software with IP Office on R5 and they said it was not compatible.

ega218, the current softphone (Phone Manager Pro in voip mode) is supported on R5 and works as well as any other release, they are wrong :)

amriddle01,

When I spoke to my vendor I was actually asking about the Avaya IP Softphone 6.0, which I understand now that it is not supported with the IP Office.

I guess my question is if the Sofphone that tlpeter mentions for use with the new 1XP is the one that is included in the PM pro or a separate Softphone sofware.

I wish that Avaya could use unique names for all of their products because it really gets confusing when referencing them.

The softphone i mention is the new sip softphone and not the phonemanager softphone!
And no it is not working on 5.0

It's different, the new one is "IP Office softphone" or "IP Office Video Softphone" when you load it, the original one is called "Phone Manager Pro PC Softphone" :)

Now it is clear!

Thank you both amriddle01 and tlpeter :)

I will try the product in a few months after the new release bugs have been addressed.

Right, so "Application Mode" is just minimizing softphone.

Brilliant!
