Hi

I took out an Ayaya IP Office system with British Telecom and they have their logo all over it.

I now use a third party provider for our telephony but we cannot update the firmware etc. until the logo ism removed - BT will not help!!

Any advice would be appreciated.

Many thanks.

To the best of my knowledge the BT branding is permanent once installed (Damn annoying).

This should not prevent your new maintainer from supporting the system or upgrading the firmware it is purely cosmetic

A Maintenance contract is essential, not a Luxury.
Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

Hi IPGuru

What a pain.

Ok - so I can update firmware and software and install one-x software etc??

Many thanks for you advice on this matter.

The BT branding is permanent indeed, but only on the handset displays, everything else is as standard once you've reset the security settings, it's all standard config etc :)

Not quite, the default security settings on BT branded systems are different. I think the default password for either the Security Administrator or one of the other service users is different. Struggled with it a long time ago.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Just found the notes that I kept in case it happened again.

I couldn't default the security except via DTE cable so after several trips round that loop I asked a knowledgeable colleague. Turned out that for BT branded systems the security administrator name and password have different defaults.

Silly really since as some have noticed the Administrator account can get straight into the security settings these days.

The branding license cause the system to write a value into an area of non-volatile memory so subsequently removing the license has no effect.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.
