When I try to run SETUPSQL.EXE, I get the following message:

config.nt. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose "Close" to terminate the application.

Do I need to make modifications to my config.nt file?

My system is a Pentium 3 -600mhz, 128MB.

Sorry! Real mental lapse on that last post. The answer is in the subject.

Config.nt may be damaged or missing. See the following.

Error Message When You Install or Start an MS-DOS or 16-Bit Windows Based Program

If you want to get the best answer for your question read faq183-874 and faq183-3179.

tlbroadbent,

I tried the solution and it worked like magic! MSDE installed smoothly. Thank you so much. I have many other programs that won't install because of this error message. I guess they will install successfully when I try them again.

Thank you.
