Running 4.2(4) IP Office and VMPro, is that supported on 2008R2 64bit?

Trying to migrate it off a physical machine and onto a VM.

TIA!

It is from the 4.2 Matrix tlpeter.

But the tech bulletin tells me otherwise.
And then i believe the tech bulletin.
I think you are thinking about server2008 (not R2)

honey, i fried the IP Office !!!

Ok...one last question, If I am using a USB dongle will it work ok with IPoffice/VMPro running on a VM? I know workstation and server support USB but not sure about ESX.

I have no idea but i would ditch the usb dongle anyway.
Go for a serial one (406 or 412)
This will save you a lot of trouble.

How would I got about getting a serial one? And can I transfer my license from the dongle? Sorry that whole thing is foreign to me as it was here before I got here. I just moved it to wherever VMPro was installed at the time.

you will need to order a new key from your BP and then have them move the keys over to it. we do them all the time.

You can transfer the licences with the iad of a BP, as for the dongle I'm not sure Avaya sell them anymore but ringing around a few dealers even Ebay will get results I'm sure. Plus if you want to go to R6 only the serial dongles are supported :)

Thanks guys. I will see what I can find out.

Ok. Updated IP Office and VMPro on the current server, everything went smooth but now my auto-attend isn't answering calls.

Incoming call routes that go to auto-attend have a destination of *811. But that doesn't appear to be working anymore.

I don't see a *811 short code either. But if it was that I dont remember what it was set to.

Any ideas?

Ok. Got it working for now..

Had to change my destination for my main incoming call route to VM:<menu name>. But now it answers immediately, doesn't even ring once before the auto attend comes on. Is there a delay I can set somewhere to allow it to ring at least once?

I dont remember having to do that before.

Try using a ShortCode.

8888/VM collect/VM:<menu name>

Then point the ICR to that SC.

If that won't work, use the SC as a FWD unconditional on a virtual user.
Put that user in a HG. And point the ICR to that HG.

check if your wave files are still there, a colleague did an upgrade last night and it wiped out all greetings

Does everybody get pink here?

Its working now using VM:MainAttend but no rings, just straight to auto attend. .wav files are there because I get the mainattend when I call the main number.

Everything is working except the MainAttend menu picks up before you even hear a ring on the callers end.

Whereas before on 4.2 it would at least ring once.

Don't complain, I think that's better, the system answers nice and quick. Others on here have asked how to stop it ringing once before the Attendant answers, looks like Avaya listened to them :)

Bas..SC doesn't work, I tried using VM Collect and VM Node and both just prompt you to enter your mailbox number.

IE:

8888/VM collect/VM:MainAttend >> goes to "Please enter your voicemail number..."

8888/VM Node/VM:<menu name> >> Does the same thing.

Helping Westi and Bas out with pink.

I see everything in pink, I should give Elton John his glasses back

Thanks Drewdown

Did you try with and without quotation marks in the shortcode

I like pink too

I had to say this because my little daughter told me to (she likes pink)

The AA is there straight away without a ring.
You could record a ring and put that in front of the wav file.

Westi,

The SC that Bas suggested doesn't play the MainAttend it just prompts you to enter a mailbox number. Either way I added quotation marks and it did not make a difference.

Bas quoted it wrong, should be:

8888
VM collect
"menuname"

not

8888
VM collect
VM:<menu name>

or

8888

VM collect
"VM:<menu name>" :)
