Can anyone tell me why the IP office is referred to as a pbx? What is the difference between a pbx and a key system?

IP office PBX?

a key system shows line appearances, a pbx is a pooled system like the ip office. believe me i wish i could make the ip office work like a key system. i found there are alot of likes and dislike advantages when installing this product

I have found many pro and cons, but I still prefer a keysystem to a pbx, as do many customers. The IP office still suffers a lack in translation from Europe to US expectations.
