Hi,

I'm having some issues with the key server for our IP Office install. Some questions:

1.) On our key server (running W2003), the Key Server service starts but I don't see the icon in the corner nor do I see it listed under task mgr processes. Should I see keyserve.exe in the processes list?

2.) When I start the program keyserve.exe, I do get the icon and it looks good (no X) but the manager sometimes doesn't pick up the licenses. Are there certain ports that need to be opened?

3.) Can you run keyserver on 2008R2? If so, where can I find the driver for the USB key?

4.) Does the IP Office query the license server after it boots or is it only at startup? This is more for me understanding the behavior for troubleshooting.

Thanks a bunch!
Drew

What for ipoffice do you have ?
What kind of dongle do you have ?
Perhaps swapping is a better idea if you have a usb or parallel dongle.

honey, i fried the IP Office !!!

What is your IP Office model and what software do you have on it?

Sorry about the version - it's 3.2 (61) and it's a USB key. Thanks!

In case it matters, it's the gen 1 style (white) not the black one. Thanks!

Drew

For IP Office there has NEVER been a white NOR a black USB dongle, it has always been red so you must have a wrong dongle.

I understand, the black version is a Network Alchemy branded system, the predecessor of IP Office.
My advise is to swap the USB dongle for a serial dongle which can be attached directly to the IP Office.
Costs only a few bucks, contact your business partner for that.

The "black" in the photo is actually Avaya Gray

It's people like you who generalize.

Maybe i should wrote "commercial available", there has been black ones distributed for trialling and these were not ment to be sold. I have a IP500 in a different color as the current IP500, also intended not to be sold.

was that a 500 in the old 406/412 style colouring?

It was just a black key with sentinel written on it. i never actually used it, it was an interim thing whilst i shifted some licenses onto a 500 key.
