Hi all sorry about this question but not getting a lot of sense out of Avaya on this so here goes

I want to use a 3500 switch at a remote branch to do DHCP for IP Phones and Computers.

Is there a way to do this? Keep in mind this is a remote site with a very low end router so DHCP repay is out.

The problem we have is we cannot see how you get the DHCP on a ERS 3510 to send out all the Scope details you need for IP phones

[cheers]

Run the IP Office script on it, use the cheapo router for DHCP for the Data VLAN (plug it into port 2) and use the IP Office DHCP server for the Voice VLAN (plug it into port 1).

Create a route in the IP Office to the data VLAN with the switch IP being the gateway.

Thanks Nnaarrnn

However we really don't want to use the IP Office DHCP we have our reasons

Imagine 26 sites each with a 3510 or 3524s and a IPOSE in a Datacentre total users about 170 9608s

[cheers]

Enable IP routing globally.
Enable IP routing for the VLAN you will use.
Define DHCP global options.
Define DHCP pool and setup options for Calls reverse and port (1719), HTTP Server.
If you use different VLANS for voice and data setup voice VLAN ID in LLDP-MED options for every port.

Install a small server to act a A DHCP server on the Voice Vlans for the remote sites.

it should be possible to put together a small Linux server to do this for less than £50.00!
