Where would I look in the 3300 to find out how to unregister a phone. I know that to register a phone in my system I can go to the set and press ###1 (extension)SUPERKEY
But I can't figure out how to unregister a set that is already registered. I have looked in my feature codes, but don't see it there. Thanks for any help!

If you would like to replace an existing extension with a new device you can use replacement code, most likely ***, instead of ###

To unregister the deive you can remove the MAC address in the user/device configuration form, you may want to reset the phone also, this can be done by pressing both up and down volume keys on the IP phone, release just the down arrow and press 2,3,4 then release the up arrow, this will enter config mode, you can reset the phone to default in here

Hope this helps

I'd like to be able to do it from the set to avoid extra walking back to the other building where my computer is at. The *** gives me a fast busy and the word INVALID comes on the phone screen. Is there a universal setting somewhere where I can change this unregister code? Thanks!

The registration and replacment codes are set in the system options assignment form, if for example it is set to ***, the code will be ***(extension number)superkey that you enter on the phone

*** & ### are the default codes. Check the System Options form to see what the codes are in your controller.

I agree with 619tech...you said that you use ###1 as the registration code. If so, you have changed the default, so you need to look and see what you changed the deregistration code to...

There is no method to completely - unregister a phone.
There are 2 codes
set registration ( normally ***) and
set re-registration (normally ###)

Set registration is used to tie a MAC address of a phone to a user account.

eg in the MCD directpry number 2001 is assigned as a 5330 handset

On a New never before registered phone it boots up gets dhcp and says Use Hold key to send pin.
You would enter ***2001 HOLD , this then ties the mac address of the 5330 to user 2001, if the phone is rebooted , the system has its mac address and it starts up as 2001.

If that handset goes faulty and you want to replace it you can remove the faulty phone , connect the replacement( same phone type) and if its mac address is not already registered , you can overwrite the stored mac for 2001 by using ###2001 Hold.

The only way to remove a mac from the system is to overwrite it as above or to log into the ESM and delete it from the user account.

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....
