Anyone knows which load to print the NCOS on a Meridain PBX and then how to create a new NCOS to dial to Europe only on a few sets?

Are you wanting to know which sets have what ncos to begin with?

You do that in LD 81.

And to get a better insight on NARS/BARS go to

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

Thats all right, I do that to sometimes. Typing faster then i'm thinking.

Thanks. The highest NCOs on the PBX is 3. I would like to create NCOS 4 with only 4 phones assigned to NCOS 4. How would I do this? Users just dial "9" to call out.(No NARS/BARS on this switch)

If you are only going to use this for Internation & do not want to use Authcodes. Use 6 or 7, 7 being your highest NCOS once you have 7 on the phones you want to dial International

put an Entry on your LD RLI OR create a new one that allows The international with an FRL of 7
NCOS = how much money you have

FRL = how much it cost

if you use 4 anyone with 4,5,6,7 NCOS can use it - get it?
look at your 011 SPN rli - chg it or create it with frl 7

or setup authcodes - same basic setup with mfrl 7 setting for the authcode. kind of a few ways you can accomplish your mission

No NARS/BARS on switch. How are you using NCOS

To get some insight on how to use goto

the spn for europe, here we use 011, which opens all country codes.. points to a rlb... the frl on that rlb needs to be the highest in your switch (usually a 7).. then add it as an entry to your rlb that points to your ld rdb... if nctl is 1 for 1 mapping, then ncos 7 can dial 9 011 plus... if your not up to speed on bars, the faq's here have a decent starting point

Right now your only using NCOS 0, 1, 2 and 3 as all the rest have a FRL of 0. Now the next thing I need you to do is go to LD 90

since you use RLI 6 for DA - 411 I would recommend a nw RLI for 011 -RLI 7 maybe

RLI 6 (chg to new RLI 7) after you create it in ld 86.
DENY 0000000

set the FRL to 4 (create the new one in ld 86)
set NCOS to 4 on the phones you wish to use it. Done.

Thanks you. I will attemp to do this later today and will let you know the outcome.

i usually perfer to skip an ncos when i build a switch.

ncos 0 internal

ncos 1 spare

ncos 2 local

ncos 3 spare

ncos 4 ld

ncos 5 spare

ncos 6 spare

ncos 7 int..

it took forever to rebuild this switch to those params. it was impossible to make changes without changing the ncos on 4000 sets... the advantage is when you need a new level of access.. we added ncos 3 to include local plus all instate ld...
