Ok I know I can use the change dail plan analysis command and assign digits as extensions etc. I need to find out how you can add a four digit extension for external use if your current config is maxed out? I have run out of an external series on one of our PBX, we use 5300 and 7100 range. I tried sinply adding 5400 range but obviously when I tested it I found it in use in our are code.

Haven't had this issue ever so any help please.

u have to contact your phone service provider and negotiate leasing some more d.i.d. numbers, then program into your pbx.

Depending on your PBX version, you might be able to combine TAC codes with FACs as DACs and free up a range. We changed our call type under digit 1 in the dial plan analysis to "DAC", so now we can use a leading digit of 1 as both a Feature Acces Code and a Trunk Access Code. This meant I could open up the 5XXX range which used to be TAC, by changing my leading digit of 5 from TAC to EXT and then I ordered more DIDs in the 5xxx range.

Thanks guys I was afraid of this.

Although it is nice, Your did's do not have to be the same as your internal numbers. If you have a cooperative lec, they can send you the digits you require to match your dialplan.

As it turns out I need to contact the CO and get another block released. Thank you all.
