Had a strange one today.... This set up had been working for ages, and suddenly stopped:

A incoming call route points to an analogue extension, which has call forward unconditional to an external number... This used to be a fax machine, the external number is a fax bureau....

It stopped working, and we got engaged tone when ringing the DDI. Went in to Manager and changed the call forward destination to my mobile -that works ok.

Rang the fax bureau number from the system - no problems, so no stray short codes to catch me out....

Fired up Monitor to see what's happening - with the bureau number in place, I can see that the system thinks both outbound routes are out of service - hence the busy tone.

Rebooted, and all is well!

Anyone else seen this?

Matt

I've seen analog ports lock up before and the only way to free it was to reboot, but then it'll lock up again eventually. Why not just program this call forward on a phantom user? Not an actual analog port.

I have dreamed a dream, but now that dream has gone from me.

or point the incoming call route to a shortcode that targets the correct number

Interrupt the silence only if you improve it by saying something, otherwise be quiet and everybody will be grateful.

Westi is right.
Skip the analog port and go for the incoming call route destintion.

BAZINGA!
