After two recent Windows Updates I find that my folder view settings, which were "Large Icons", revert to "List" upon rebooting. I specify "remember each folders settings - yes" but no luck.
How can I get Windows2000 to remember?
Tried Active Desktop. No luck. My folder's view is still "List" not "Large icons" on reboot. I had this same problem with Windows 98SE too after a recent update. Then on the next update the problem went away. Unfortunately it didn't work that way with Windows 2000. I really don't want Web content shown in the folder anyway. The Windows Classic look is fine for this particular purpose.
Sorry to say I am still bugged by this business of my folder setting not being saved. I hate to hold the CTRL key down while exiting. However I don't find BagMRU in my registry. I am running Windows 2000 Professional SP4 on a Dell Latitude CPt laptop.
