Hello,

I have tried several different things regarding the fax moved ports changed fax machines. Still getting line error message and 1 out of 5 faxes will go through.

Could it be something on the analog card itself?

Yes. It could also be something else in the system.

What software release are you running, and what model PBX do you have?

Do both inbound and outbound faxes fail at the same rate?

Do fax calls to other internal fax machines work or fail also?

Any additional details would be helpful.

When I've had similar problems in the past, it has turned out to be clocking issues with the PRI circuit, have you tried send internal faxes from on analogue port to another, to rule out analogue card?

I have also tried using analog phone. The dial tone is there and able to make and receive calls using analog phone. Faxes only seem to go through intermittantly, able to fax internal from one fax to another no problem. its only when faxing out and receiving external faxes.

As I originally said, usually PRI timing issue, check
clocking in LD 60

SSCK 0

also try

LCNT

This will show slips and errors.

I tried to to an SSCK (0,and 1) in ld 60 and got nothing.
in ld 60 I did a lcnt and got this.

PRI TRK LOOP 22
BPV -000
SLIPD -000
SLIPR -000
CRC -000
LOSFA -000
OS_BPV -000
OS_YEL -000

PRI TRK LOOP 23
TRSH CNT:
BPV -010
SLIPD -000
SLIPR -658
CRC -000
LOSFA -004
OS_BPV -000
OS_YEL -001

I also disabled the card in ld 32 and reenabled them also.

Could it be that the one PRI card is configured for incoming analog calls and the other is not?

We had turned down the 1 PRI card due to static, everything was working as far as fax and calls till now where faxes are not able to come in.

How are they configured? DID, VOD, VCE, 3VCE(preferred)

how do i check to see how they are configured. The clock light on the card is red.

The PRI 23 circuit seems very "noisy", this could be causing your fax issues.

SLIPR -658
LOSFA -004

658 Slip Repetions and 4 Loss of Frame Alignments is not good, have you got your carrier to check the circuit?

Go to LD 73 and PRT your DDB.

See if your Clock PREF is 23. If it is, then that is most likely your problem. If you are no longer using Loop 23, then you should move the clock controller to the other loop, and use it as your clock reference.

Moss I have not engaged the carrier yet.

allen
the ddb
shows a PREF of 0 0 3 which is the circuit that is turned down.

Should I change it to card 0 0 4 for PREF since that is the one that is currently translating the calls incoming and outgoing?

will 3vce resolve the incoming fax issues?
will i need to go to ld 16 to make the change?

I tried outing the DDB in ld 73 to change the pref to card 0 0 4.

it didnt let me change the pref or the mgclk.

You cannot out the DDB because other PRI's reference it.

Also, the PREF must match the value entered for MGCLK.

Is the PRI on 0 0 3 no longer in service, or did you just disable it due to poor quality?

You definately need to address your clocking issue. Each MG with a PRI must have a clock controller.

Try entering 0 0 4 against the SREF prompt.

Then in LD 60 have the clock track on the secondary reference by issuing the command: TRCK SCLK 0 0
