8.1(43) embedded Voicemail to Email. The Customer has POP email. So in users,
I put in their email Address and copy.
In system, smtp tab Enter ip address, and the port they use. any idea where I can find that info in their outlook?
I also tried GMX email as a relay, but I really don't get that.

If someone leaves me a voicemail I need to send a email to nyname@abc.com.
with VM pro there is an email client on the voicemail pro server that sends the email. with embedded there is no client, so what sends the email. It must be the SMTP tab in system. So I did the following:
IP: 213.165.64.45
port: 587
email from address: you@gmx.com/us
server requires auth: ticked
user name; you@gmx.com/us
password; your password
use challenge response auth: unticked
Then I put in an iproute
0.0.0.0 subnet mask 0.0.0.0 192.168.1.1(gateway) Lan1
With this I would think I would recieve an email at my gmx address.
I don't get the big picture.
Anyone care to explain?

smtp server is the customers email server

this will not work unless they have an email server and you can hit the server from the phone system

the phone system does not send the email, it relays the wav file to the email server, then the email server sends the physical email.

You might want to get with the IT vendor to give you the smtp settings and created the sender address... it is pretty straight forward stuff

So I need to get the ip address off their E-Mail server (public address)and the port they use.
They have created a user voicemail with a password of voicemail in their E-Mail server.
Do I fill out the SMTP tab with the ip address, the port, voicemail@abc.com
and in authentification (I know spelling) enter voicemail@abc.com and voicemail as the password?

and I don't need to relay the message with GMX E-Mail?

thanks for your help. it worked without any relay, which is great because I did not understand that at all.
