I have a D160 phone that goes to a password screen and just sits there. It doesn't let me enter the password or do any of the other functions. Pulling the battery and restarting the phone doesn't help either.

Is there a way to do a factory reset on these phones? I can't find anything in the docs about a pin reset.

Is this the error you get Is the set reg to a base station???

In the configuration menu, navigate to Administrator Setting and press the Select
soft key.
2. Enter the administrator password, and press the OK soft key. Press the Del soft key
to delete the last character entered.
By default, the administrator password is 7 8 2 8 8 7 6 (or 'Q U A T T R O').
3. If the password is correct, navigate to the desired menu.
If the password is incorrect, the display reads Failed and the handset emits an error
tone before returning to the main menu

The only pin reset is for the Base station that I'm aware.

The phone is registered. When the phones it eventually gets to the password screen on just locks up. I don't know if that password screen is the administrative login or if it is extension login. Normally at login, a phone stops at the enter extension prompt but this goes right to password.

When the phone boots I have a few seconds to press the Regst button. I can register to the base station but it just goes back to a password screen. Once at the password screen it just locks up and pressing buttons does nothing.

I am going to try and unregister the phone at the base station and reboot the base station.

The way your describing it sounds like the user login screen

If your setting on your base station was correct and it is now trying to connect to the IPO
When no users are logged in, the handset display reads Login | Config.
Note that you can press the On-Hook key at any time to exit the menu and cancel the login attempt.
If you do not enter a number within 30 seconds, the handset returns to the Idle
state.
The handset then prompts you to enter the password provided by your administrator
for that extension number.
Use the >> soft key to move the cursor to the right, or
wait two seconds for the cursor to progress automatically. Note that the password
length is limited to seven characters.
If you enter an invalid extension or password, the display reads Login Failed for
three seconds and then the handset returns to the logged-out state.

The problem is that the phone wouldn't take any input. We couldn't put in the password or select other options on the screen.

We were able to clear the problem by logging into the base and unregistering the phone. Registration and Login worked fine after that.
