I have a customer who has a IP Office 500 V2 who is currently using a 3810 cordless phone. The phone sucks! Get complaints that the user sounds like they are in a cave or can't hear them at all. This is in a small office environment. I am looking to get rid of that phone and go with another cordless option.

I have looked into the 3641 wireless but this is too expensive cost wise. Over $1000.00 once you buy the phone, the battery, the AVPP, TFTP server software and the wireless access point on top of that. Then I would have to cable the location to make it all work. Not very cost effective for this company who only has 6 digital phones in the first place.

Can I go with a off brand like a AT&T brand and be able to have incoming calls ring the phone? Transfer calls? etc? Would there need to be any other equipment to make it work?

You can use an ordinary analogue DECT phone (like the type you use at home) but they connect to an analogue port and are limited to within the range of their own base unit i.e no handover/roaming :)

Probably a range of 150 ft tops. Thanks for the info.

You can use DECT repeaters to boost range, if you can get something like the Uniden XDECT range these have repeaters in the charger base of each phone or use a long range cordless like an Engenius.
