Hi...

My customer has an old copper DID coming into the switch - it's pumping 3 digits rather than 4 - am I able to accept the 3 digits via IDC Table? Is this even possible??

Thanks!!!

yes, three digits works just as well as one, as long as the switch is setup that way. you do know you don't always need an idc table?

this entry in the cdb tells the switch how many digits your going to accept from the co

Code:
LDN_DATA
  OPT XLDN
  DLDN NO
  LDN0 8399

because my ldn is 4 digits i need 4 digits

Also, depending on exactly what you're doing you may need to check your Route Data Block. If DNIS=YES then you'll need to specify NDGT (number of digits).

When did Co's ever send only 3 digits though? i always thought they sent 4 or more??

I've had them send as little as 2 and as many as 10 (not 10 for Nortel Products). For PBX's I prefer 4 though.

The only time the LDN need to be programmed for digit length is with PRI service. When using copper this is not the case. Idc will work fine just put the IDGT as the 3 digit number received.

your right on that one, but i've had a week like that. years ago a lot of smaller switches used 3 digits internal. for less the 100 stations it made sense. default on mitel used to be station 200 to 299
