HAs anyone noticed that there is a higher rate of incoming cell phone failures? I find that when callers call into my auto attendant and dial a 4 digit extension the pbx is not hearing all of the tones, or the tones are not long enough, and the call fails. I now have it routing back to the announcement that asks for the extension.
Is this just a cell phone issue or is there something I can do on the definity to make it "hear" the tone?
Thanks

jimmog I have a few questions. Are the incoming lines ISDN? If so how is the service type translated?. I had a problem with telecommuter were the Definity would not accept the touch tones to change coverage ETC. I was instructed to change the service type from TIE to public-ntwrk. This then allowed the Definity to accept the touch tones. However this was for all calls into the Definity not just cell phones.

Just a thought

1a2 to ip I seen it all

The calls are coming over CO trunks, not ISDn.
I think the problem is that the cell service is spotty and they are dialing the numbers fast so that all th tones do not get thru clearly or long enough to be heard by the pbx.
It is only cell phone calls.
When the folks complain that wife/husband/kids call they can't connect. Sometimes it is our salespeople as well.
I think I just answered my own question.
If it is only cells and the service is spotty or the tones are not heard the call will not connect.
Would you concur?

I believe in most cell phones there is an option to turn off/on DTMF tones and also increase/decrease the length of the tones. If we could somehow get the message out to people to turn them on it will make a difference. We had the same issue in our office with our internal employee's cell phones and after turning on the DTMF tones to a normal length it is working perfectly.

fortunately for me the problem only happens to cell phone users.
The folks complain and when I ask if the call came from a cell they always say Yes.
thanks for the responses.
