Greeting

firstly; below is my configuration;

I have more than one IP Office central, one for Head Office which has the landlines, and another IP Office in branches.

the configuration in Head Office is:

Line:
Analogue trunk for landlines 1,2,3,4,5 with specified extensions

H323: Line Number 17
Prefix : -
National Prefix: -
International Prefix: -
TEI 0
Outgoing Group 17
No short code under H323 line.

Short Code:
9N
Dial
N
0

ARS 50:Main as default

the configuration in Branch is:

Line:
H323: Line Number 17
Prefix : -
National Prefix: -
International Prefix: -
TEI 1
Outgoing Group 0
No short code under H323 line.

Short Code:
9
Dial
9N
0

ARS 50:Main as default
No user rights applied neither in HO nor Branches.

By the above configuration; all users can pickup the Landline by pressing 9 and make National/International calls.

The question is;

How can we prevent some users from dialing 0N for National/International calls? and give them the ability to make local calls only?

You can resolve this in ARS, for example:

Code: 0N | Telephone Number: 0N | Feature: BARRED | LIne grp ID: 0

So, for each user, you should configure a "user right

Thanks wfranklin

but if you tried it, can you tell me; in which ARS I have to create this code, HO or Branch?

in ARS shall I use secondary dial tone or not?

what is the code in user right I have to create?

shall I remove the short code from either HO or Branch?

thanks again for your patience and kind support?

thanks for everybody, your posts guided me to find the solution.

it is done and currently working as a charm,

what I noted, that I have to play with the ARS of the H.O. not the ARS of the branch.

what I did is:

- creat a new ARS called "Barred" with secondary dial tone tick.
- add short code to ARS for barring 0, table like: 0N blank Barred 0
- creat a new short code under H.O., table like: 01 N dial 51:Barred

in Branch;
- creat user rights for restricted users with short code to call the short code 01 in H.O., table like: 9 01 dial 0
- creat another user rights for allowed users with normal short code, table like: 9 9N Dial 0, to forward to regular short code in H.O., table like: 9N N Dial 0.

the only note here is that the restricted users will hear the secondary dial tone not the actual tone.

I would always bar numbers is system short codes & then use user rights to allow these calls to the users that need them
