I have configured auto attendant on the SOE. The calls are routed to the correct hunt groups and the callers feedback works perfctly.

However, there are few issues.

1) When a caller dials the Main Number, the caller is directed automatically to the auto attendant. I want the system to play the standard ringing tone at least 1 sec before it is connected to the auto attendant.

2) When a caller selects the relevant option the system automatically plays the music on hold. I want the system to play the rining tone for at least 2 seconds to let the caller know that the call is being connected and then forward to the MOH.

Please advise.

1 dont know
2 use blind transfer instead of supervised, this will ringback to caller, then set up announcement on the called group or called ext to kick in after 2 seconds. record an intro message or leave blank to just have hold music

1 just thought of a way

create a group which and point the ddi at it. Put a virtual user in an overflow group and forward that virtual user to a shortcode that points to the AA. Set the overflow time on main group to 3 seconds (1 ring). overflow group must not be cumlative, user has fwrd hg calls set to short code.

TheTaker,

thanks for your posts.

i am having problems with Q2. When i set the blind transfer, and the caller selects the value related to the option i get the message " You have entered an invalid option".

I cannot find any announcement tabs any on the group tabs?
I am using embedded voicemail and not Voicemail pro? could this be the reason?

announcements only out since v4.05 (or thereabouts) so an upgrade might be adivised.

blind xfr should be working. if the normal xfr works then it is identical except the vm just completes the xfr immediately. try testing a few different groups/xtns.

embedded is what i assumed you were using.

2. You cannot do that. Its either or and you need to upgrade to V4 and use the announcements tab to specify which you want, either MOH or ring tone.

The Firmware on the SOE is 3.2.54,

After, downloading the latest release of ip office manager, it displays that i can update the system firmware to 4.1.9.

However, the upgrade manual suggests that the system should be updated to the latest firmware of the 3xxx range before upgrading to the range 4xxx.

Is this correct?
If yes, then where do i download the last revision update after 3.2.54?

Also, how long does the update of each revision take?

There is a 3.2.999 release for the SOE that you need to upgrade to first. change your working directory to point to the 3.2.999 folder and then upgrade.

I have now updated the system to the latest firmware 4.1.9.
The announcement tab is now visible.

I tried blind transfer first for the destination, but this did not function
When i tried normal transfer this worked fine, i get the ring tone.

However, i tried setting up an announcement as per the help files
*1Nhash (using mac so no hash key)
so if the extention no of the Hunt group is 390 i would entered *1390 hash for announcement 1 or *2390 for announcement 2.

When i dial the short code, nothing happens?
Is this a known issue? or annoucments are not feature of SOE?

Another problem i have noticed, is when a caller is presented with the auto attendant and the user does not make a selection, after the maxmum in activity time the caller is automatically transferred to the fall extention.

I want to configure it so that allows to play a message
"I am sorry, i didnt get our selection, and then replay the auto attendant until caller selects an option.

check you short code.

the default for announcement is *91GroupNumber# for 1st message, *92GroupNumber# for second.

have a look in short codes to see what you have.

The Taker
you are correct, there was a clash with another short code, and this was the problem. so i can now record the announcements.

i am now trying to configure question 1
from your advise "create a group which and point the ddi at it. Put a virtual user in an overflow group and forward that virtual user to a shortcode that points to the AA. Set the overflow time on main group to 3 seconds (1 ring). overflow group must not be cumlative, user has fwrd hg calls set to short"

please correct me if have misunderstood.

1) Create New Hunt Group - "Pre-AA"
2) Create a virtual user
3) Assign a Virtual User to the overflow list of the Hunt Group - "Pre-AA"
4) Set the overflow time to 3 seconds
5) Make sure that the collective radio is not checked so select sequential radio option
6) how do configure fed HG calls set to short?

@nazmuli,

You can not put a user in the overflow group.
Make a second hunt group called "Virtual User Group" and put that "Virtual User" in it.
If you put the "Virtual User Group" in to the overflow list of the Hunt Group of "Pre-AA" just once, it will bounce from the left users of that hunt group back to the hunt group "Virtual User Group" every 3 seconds.

If you put the "Virtual User Group" for say 10 times in the overflow group it will stay there longer before it will go back to the first hunt group.

I think i have messed up the config on the system.
I am going to erase current config and start from scratch.
I plan to do this next week wednesday (10 mar)

I will write back to hopefully confirm my results

Regarding the one sec ringing before the AA.

Why not use 4.1

Record your AA greeting, get another wav file of one burst of ringing. Mix the two files together so it is one file with one ring followed by the greeting.

Import that into the AA.

Is there anywhere i can download or purchase the ringing?

mixing the files sounds like a good option.

if you go to they have a program called wavepad where you can edit parts of tracks, cut and paste other tracks, and save the format as IP office format, ie. PCM Uncompressed, 16Khz, 8bit mono, less than 30 seconds (until 4.2 = 4 files 90 seconds each!!!)

For the ring sound, hasn't windows got a ring ring sound in its sound directory? I sure you could easily download it. just found 1

problemo solved! Get the headphones on and go scratchin!!!
