HI

We have a ring group setup on our local Avaya Ip manager (192.168.0.4) , hunt group number 293.

We want to add another ext to this ring group (e.g. 802) , but this ext (802) exists on another avaya system over H.323 trunk (192.168.20.10).

We have tried to create a dummy user on local system (ext 268) and set forwarding unconditional to 802.

When we add ext 268 to hunt group 293 , the remote ext (802) doesn't ring, but the other extensions in the ring group do ring 217 + 297

Is there a way around this? FYG, we cannot enable "voice networking" as both systems are running different firmware.

Hope this makes sense.

thanks

You might try Twinning instead of Forwarding, but a real SCN line is the way to go.

Hi
THe local IP office unit is an IP403 , the remote end is small business edition (IP406ds) running verison 5 firmware..

Do not believe the IP 403 supports twinning option , well that i can find?

ext 802 (remote end) does have this option but not sure exactly how to implement.

what software levels are both systems on?
(I dont think IP403 goes beyond V3.2)
Do you have the Twinning licence - if not you wont be able to use twining
distributed hunt groups would require an advanced SCN licence (now obsolete)
one remaining option would be to move ext 802 to the system with the group & simply register an IP extn onto the main system @ the remote site.

considering the age of both systems which are longtime obsolete you may want to consider it time to upgrade.

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

You can't cheat remote users in groups in the older systems, even with twinning licences. Avaya were aware of possible workarounds for SCN and they blocked them, I remember having this discussion many years ago and it's just not possible :)
