To begin with - I researched this subject on the forum and have tried everything suggested, so I'm going to bring it up again and hope someone has a different solution. IP Office 500v2 with R9.0.3.0(941) on it, POTS lines, and 9508 phones. This is a brand new configuration that worked fine when it was sent out, but once it was installed onsite, all of the phones are stuck on the "Please Wait" message. Things I've tried:

-Had the tech reboot the system
-Had the tech unplug and replug the phones in at the phone and at the control unit
-Had the tech try plugging a phone in directly to the control unit
-Made sure the Phone File Server Type is set to "Memory Card"
-Switched the Phone File Server Type to "Manager", merged, then put it back to "Memory Card" to see if that would jolt the system
-Made sure that "Enable BootP and TFTP Servers" is checked in Preferences
-Set the TFT Server Address to the LAN1 IP Address

Nothing has worked so far and the phones are still stuck on "Please Wait". What else can I try?

Open monitor and set the filter for tftp.
Them plug a phone in and see which version of requested.
Then open manager and go to embedded file management and see if the requested file if actually on the card.
If not then upload it and try again.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

power down and reseat the digital cards and test right from the card at control unit

Sounds like someone upgraded the system and closed Manager down before the upload file process had happened, there is a often long pause before the upload happens :)

Peter is right. I had this issue before after an upgrade, but I can't recall which file was missing.

Something like the 1400R38. But I was able to see this in the TFTP log..

Thanks for the replies, guys. I know the system was upgraded and left powered on overnight, and the system was tested and the Auto Attendant recorded the next morning. I'll run Monitor and see what it says. What's confusing is that the system was tested before it shipped out (checking Auto Attendant, Page All, the MOH message, etc.), and all the phones were fine, but once it's installed at the site the phones stop working???

Did you use the same phones. Or maybe phones that were already upgraded?

Same phones. They were upgraded in-house, then shipped to the site along with the rest of the equipment. I've done over 500 installs the exact same way, and this is the first time the phones showed up and didn't work right out of the box when plugged in. I'm scratching my head on this one.

I know the system was upgraded and left powered on overnight

Doesn't make any difference, if the Manager that was used to upgrade it was closed before uploading the files you could leave it for weeks and it'll never work. Just make sure all the files that should be there are, it's easy to check :)

Maybe just maybe during shipment the cards need to be reseated and then power back up and see what happens

I hear you - I should have clarified that the laptop w/Manager on it that was used was also left on overnight (it's a programming laptop that's always on), but it's certainly possible that it may have shut down without me noticing. I'll check the files, thanks - THAT'S something I'm familiar with at least , certain files missing from the SD card [bigsmile]
