I installed a new HP Ultrium 448 into our server last night to replace our Dell DAT72 (which is now showing in the device pool as offline) and it has loaded onto the server fine, registered in device manager, updated drive firmware etc. and yet it will not show up in the device pool for Backup...

If you go into the seetings of the Win Firewall, go to the Advanced tab and your internal LAN should be selected to allow the firewall. Alternatively make sure that File and Printer sharing is selected on the General tab. --------------------------------------- If I'm not back in five minutes...

Did you have the cradle unplugged when you installed the software? I don't think you should have the cradle plugged in when you install unless that's just for iPAQ's otherwise it can create a sync'ing failure. Try install again, same way as before and let me know if you have any luck...

Providing you have uninstalled using Add/Remove in the control panel it is fairly simple. Start, run, regedit File, export, save a backup to your hard drive somewhere then HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, Software, find the Palm folder and delete. Then re-install the software...

My suggestion would be to completely uninstall the Palmone software, take a back up of the registry and remove all traces of the Palm install. Then download the latest version of the Palm desktop software http://euro.palmone.com/europe/en/support/win_desktop.html Try it again, if it doesn't...
