(Solved!) Wiring advice for Norstar Compact plus (UK) version 3 please. (Solved!)
(OP)
Hi all,
I am hoping some kind soul might be able to help me here.
Many years ago, was given a BT Marquis system which I learned how to setup and wire in my home as a hobby. Gave great years service until lightening blue alarm box next to Marquis CCU and took the Marquis out with it. So bought A Nortel Meridian 6+16 which I also managed to wire up correctly which has given me 5 years good service but no longer is able to hold memory.
So, I now have a Compact Plus which I have wired up mostly, but I have two questions I was hoping someone could help with.
1.) Where do I wire up the outside lines. There is no helpful markings on the Krone or circuit board like there was on the 6+16 which helpfully said Line 1, Line 2 etc. I have four to connect.
2.) Ext 222 and Ext 223 Say not in use when they are dialed event though they are connected up. Is that a software setup issue to disconnect extensions or more likely I have a wiring error?
Any help with these items, especially 1 would be massively appreciated!!
Many thanks,
Ben.

The lines go on the 2nd amphenol connector cable.
Line 1 on the 1st pair, Line 2 on the 2nd, line 3 on the 5th pair, line 4 on the 6th pair. (Use 2 pairs, skip 2 pairs, use the next 2 pairs, etc)
For your sets, they go on the 1st amphenol connector cable, pairs 1 through 16. If 222 is on pair 2 and 223 is on pair 3, then go to each set and do: "Feature * 0" and press the intercom button on each set. It will 1st tell you the extension number, then hit the # button and it will tell you the port number (pair).

Looking at it sideways with the left side being the bottom.
||||||||||||||||_______________||||||||||||||||
|||||||||||||||| (237 - 244)_____||||||||||||||||Lines 1-4
|||||||||||||||| (229 - 236 _____||||||||||||||||
|||||||||||||||| (221 - 228)_____||||||||||||||||Lines 5-8
X221 bottom left
It might be possible that port 102 and 103 are bad on the wiring adapter, try re-punching.

Lines do not go on 102 or 103, did you typo?
It is best to test with a 25 pair amp cable direct to the Commander with a Krone wafer (or termination block) on the end as that will test if it's the Commander ports or the ICTU adapter board.
You could also test the line card by moving it to the other slot and re-terminate the lines to bottom Krone, the program lines 5 to 8 on the set.

Anyway, I have attached the UK Norstar Compact plus guide that I think contains the wiring codes. These systems cam in two types. One used viking connectors that went to a Box Conn and you had one cable for extensions and one for the trunks.
The later type had an connector that was mounted staright onto the system and also had two krone strips. The numbering was based on lines 001 to 004 or 01 to 04 for the first 4 port analogue trunk module and then lines 031 to 034 or 31 to 34 for the second 4 port analogue trunk module. I recall that the line positions appeared in different ports on the krone strip. I think some labeling was L01, L02 etc for the trunks.
