Y Axis Title Problem in Excel 2000

Hi all,

I was wondering if someone can help me out with a problem one of our users here is having with Excel 2000.

When he creates a chart in Excel, and he puts a label for the Y Axis, the title is cut off.

For example, if he put, "Height in centimetres" as the title for the y axis, he would only see, "Height in centim". It is happening to every single chart he creates.

I tried it on my PC and it worked fine. I uninstalled and re-installed Office 2000, no luck. Applied SP for it, still no luck.

Any ideas?

The labels are actually text boxes and they can be manipulated "graphically, click on the label and drag the ends of the text box and drag

Hey,

I tried doing that - however you can't change the size of the text boxes - Excel does that automatically...

About the only other things you can do are:

1. Make sure Autoscale is checked under the font option for "Format axis title" when you right click on the title.

If that doesn't work,

2. Get rid of the title and insert a textbox in it's place.

Autoscale is ticked.

And if you use a textbox, the test goes from left to right, not from bottom to up (if that makes sense!).

Strange thing is, if you print the graph, you can see the entire Y Axis title!

For the textbox, this is what you need to do.

In the Y axis title, just leave a space so there is room to put the textbox on the chart.

Create the text box, type your text, right click on the text box, choose format textbox, select alignment tab, and choose Centre for Horizontal and Vertical Alignment and choose one of the alignments on the right.

what happens if someone opens one of his charts on their machine? is the title completly visable?

Yeh, the title is completely visible on everyone else's PC but his. If I log on as myself on his PC, it doesn't work either!

Microsoft have suggested a rebuild of his PC...

They do say no 2 installs of excel are the same!!!!
