Okay, this is not the same issue as the following:
"Windows XP does not search all files to enhance the performance of searching and to avoid extraneous results. This behavior occurs whether or not you use the Indexing service when you search. Therefore, Windows XP has a known issue for not finding a number of File Types when you do a Search for Files "containing text" or using the "A word or phrase in the file" option."
There is a Quick Books file in the C:\Program Files\Quicken Folder of this computer I have. I can see it, I can open it.
But.... If I do a search for *.qbw, that file is not found. It finds some QBW files in other folders though!! I don't understand.
I have disabled the Search Assistant to get the Windows 2000 search LOOK, but I do that on all computers, so it has nothing to do with that. And I have the Indexing Service turned off, but I also do that on all PCs.
