Has anyone ever had this when opening Word XP?

"File Conversion - ~$ALMAPP.DOT"

Followed by "The add-in template is not valid. (C:\Program Files\...\~$ALMAPP.DOT)"

This is puzzling me greatly.

Hi,
I'm not sure what that file might be but.....It almost looks like it's trying to load something for a Palm application. Do you have Palm synchronizing software loaded?

Are you eventually able to open Word? If so, try going to Tools | Template and Addins. When it opens, see if something that looks like this file name is in the window. If so, uncheck it.

Good luck,

Thanks Kathy. I removed this file from startup and that did it.

Thanks,
