I have a user that has been having some strange issues with Word 2003. The program crashes periodically when minimizing word or when switching between instances of word. We've run the office cleanup utility as well as done a complete uninstall and reinstall of office. The same thing is happening with no change. Has anyone seen something like this before? Or does anyone have any suggestions?

Run Office Setup, Advanced Options and Uninstall the Handwriting Recognition feature under Alternative Inputs.

Thanks for the input, however apparently it didn't solve the issue. Here is the e-mail I received from the user:

I followed that instruction but unfortunately it did not work.
Let me explain my problem once again…
My word crashes only if I open more than one word file. It crashes specially when I minimize one and switch to another word file or when I switch from one word to another word for more than once .

Definitely the problem caused by Handwriting Recognition. How confident are you that the user is fully competent with computers to uninstall a component of Office? If they're that competent, why aren't they here asking for help themselves instead of through a third party?
