WinSCP - Which Password?

Trying to WinSCP into a Server Edition.

I can access everything, the config, one-x, voicemail pro, Monitor, system status etc etc, but no matter what I do I cannot get WinSCP to give me anything except Access Denied.

I am using the Administrator username and password used to access voicemail pro and the config, but it isnt working. what password should be used here? (Please note this is the first time I have had issues accessing WinSCP on dozens of systems).

What are you trying to get out of the system? It's probably file permissions. If you can get stuff to/from /home/Administrator, I'd reckon that's the issue.

I always used the IPO Administrator account. The same I also use to connect via putty/SSH.

But I found out that the Linux doesn't save the passwords itself (except from root password I think) but uses the IPO service together with it's user database as authentication source. If the IPO service doesn't run you are not able to use the IPO Administrator's password but you can login with Administrator/Administrator...

I am trying to upload custom wav files to the voicemail. I built two server editions at the same time, one as a primary and one as a secondary. These work fine. I am able to access Voicemail pro, one-x, config, security, the plaform pages for both systems without issue. The passwords for the two systems were all set the same (so admin on both is the same, security on both is the same etc), I am even able to access the secondary system via WinSCP using the password I thought should be the correct password for them and it is, so why cannot not access the primary system via winscp?

And now it has just started working. Very Weird.

did you have winscp configured for ftp or sftp
you need sftp (which is ftp over SSH) & uses the SSH username & password.

Server edition does not have an FTP server running by default (not sure if one can be started or not as sftp is better anyway)


Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

Had it set to SFTP same as always, it just kept denying entry based on password for ages, then all of a sudden same password just started working.

It's flakey, had the exact same experience on 9.1.6 trying to achieve the exact same thing.
