Hi,
Someone can help me?
I can't understand a simple question on w2k. I have only one server (on Lab), and, only one client. Both with w2k (Windows 2000 Advanced Server and Windows 2000 professional).
The hardware are diferente, but, the most significant thing are, both are connect by network cards at 100 Mb full duplex, by cross cable, both are in the same workgroup (LAB51).
When I start a simple copy fron server to workstation or vice-versa, the copy of 10 files of 40MB take more than 10 minutes!
Whel, I can't understand where is the problem!
100 Mb/s = 12.5 MB/s
10 files * 40 MB = 400 MB
400 MB / 12.5 MB/s = 32 seconds!!
It's simple! Ok, I don't leave in count the time of processing of operational system, disk latency, and other delays.
I fill something is not right!
How can I improve the network performance?
How can I improve the Windows 2000 performance?
Thanks in advance
Douglas
