I've just upgraded my domain server running Samba 2.2.7 on RedHat 7.2 to Samba 3.0.1 (compiled from src.rpm). Now, at random, whenever a Win98/Win2k machines tries to access my Win2k Servers (all) in the domain, we get an error:
Win2k Pro reports: "The system cannot find message text for message number 0x%1 in the message file for %2"
Win98 Reports: "\\packard is not available. Unknown error 31"
If you tried again after a few minutes, all servers are accessible again, but goes "offline" every so often. Has anyone had this problem before?
Somebody suggested that I remove the servers from the domain, delete the server registration from the samba server and it back in again and finally rejoin the server to the domain. That didn't work.
