Will Voicemail Pro accept custom recorded WAV files?

I am trying to record custom menu prompts on a PC and just drop them into Voicemail Pro. I am recording at the very same rates/samples of current menu prompts that work. They are all WAV files. The problem is that when I implement one of theses custom prompts (save and make live), they do not work. Calls to the number just don't play anything. If I switch back to a WAV file that was recorded via a telephone on the system, it works fine.

Am I doing anything wrong?

Maybe, it should work. I have had several installations with recordings from a professional studio and they all worked fine.

Convert them to 8.000 Khz/16 Bit/Mono and I bet it works.

I've used Creative WaveStudio (an old standby that came with the Audigy cards) to do this work in the past..

Yea, admittedly, they were recorded too large or maybe not being the same format is why they did not work at first. They were orginally recorded at PCM 22.050kHz, 16 bit, Mono.

I then used Windows XP recorder function to take one down to PCM 8.000kHz, 16 bit, Mono and that will still not work. These are the same settings that those that do work have. Those ones that work were made by having VM Pro call back to an extension and recording over the phone.

I realize that you can choose the PC Multimedia option to record from VM Pro, but it's on a server in a computer room and not convenient. Thus, I have been recording WAV files with a microphone and basic software on a laptop. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Ok, gonna put this one to bed. Instead of fooling with worrying over re-encoding what won't work, I just had our voice person do everything over with correct encoding.
