Hmmm - I had heard the same about it being part of Visual C++ installation and did a partial install (didn't want to use up a heap of disk space for one little tool) but I still don't know if I have it, or, if I do, how to fire it up.
I do have another icon editor but it does not seem to be capable of doing 16x16. I guess if there is one with Visual Studio, I'd rather use that one.
I personaly use "IconShop 1.13" that is a freeware that permits all sizes from 16x16 to 96x96 in many color color depth. It isn't an icon editor but rather an icon organizator that allow to group them in '.icl' files but it's big strength is that it allow drag'n drop and cut an paste. So, what I do to create new icons is create a bitmap with an image editor and then cut and paste it into IconShop. Water is not bad as long as it stays out human body ;-)

Actually I had tried searching for IMAGEDIT.EXE to no avail as I had seen it referred to on another site. However I have now searched the Visual Studio CD's - it is on disk 3 under Common\Tools\VB\IMAGEDIT.
