I have just had installed a new CTI server and MAPD. I need to load software from Avaya and the only thing I have is a MultiVantage CallVisor ASAI Release 2.0 Documentation Cd. I think Avaya forgot to drop off the needed software, can anyone help me understand the software needed before I call Avaya.

I am new to CTI/MAPD (never used it) so I need CTI for Dummies help please.

Thanks

Does anyone have a quarter, I need to make a phone call?

I have found another package called Avaya Computer Telephony 1.3 CD and Floppy, is this what I am looking for to load onto my CTI Server and start configuring? Also on the Avaya Web site it states it is no longer supported, what versions are supported.

Thank you again

Did you ever figure this out?

Avaya Computer Telephony 1.3 needs to be installed on a NT server with LAN connectivity to the MAPD. Ideally set the MAPD and a 2nd NIC card on the Server on their own LAN (with a crossover cable if you don't have a layer 3 switch).

So here's a step by step that I've complied for my own use.

1. Install the Server from the Avaya CT Disk
2. Install Admin clients on the Server (and if required on Workstations like your own) from Avaya CT Disk
3. If required, install the Client Drivers for workstations.
4. Apply Avaya CT 1.2 Service Pack 1. You can get that from Avaya's site.
5. Run G3 PBX Driver Configuration and make sure that in the first box Definity G3 PBX Driver IP Address, you put the IP address of the NIC card that talks to the G3 MapD.
6. In the next line, Link 1: IP Address or Hostname, put in the IP of your MAPD.

The MAPD needs to be configured now.
7. Telnet to the MAPD and log in as "root" or "asai_srv"
(I hope you know the password)
8. At the command prompt, run eth_oam
9. Select 2. Local Host Table and add the IP and Name of your new Server.
10. Go back to the main menu and select DLC administration and add:

Port: 1
IP: (your sever's IP to the MAPD)
Client Link: 1

11. Exit the MAPD configuration and quit your telnet.

12. Back on the NT server, run the Telephony Services Controller, put a check mark in both Autostart on boot and Recovery Auto Restart.

13. Start the Telephony Services

That should do it, now you have to have applications that use this.

Good Luck.

Can one license be used on two servers, 1st is set as Prime and 2nd as Secondary. Can I have one license but on the two servers?

Thanks for the help, it works.

No, one CD represents one license/one server.

I beleive that the license agreement says you are only allowed to run this on the number of processors you are licensed for.

That would be a better question for your Avaya rep. I know a MAPD can support more than one CTI server because at one point we had the Avaya CT and another product running at the same time.
