My intent was to change the SMTP address to match our organization's e-mail scheme. The server was setup to use a different domain on the inside. Heard from an instructor that this could be done. Before creating a mass of mailboxes, I changed the default policy under recipient policies to reflect what we use under @ our registered name. I also had created a new SMTP connector and it all seemed to work through the first set of tests and then when I went to re-test an hour later all e-mail seems to have stopped. I cannot pass e-mail hooked via exchange or by pop and smtp now. The e-mail just goes to the sent box but does not get delivered to the recipient mailbox.
Services are all running and the system has been rebooted.

Any ideas?

Did you also create a new SMTP virtual server? and if you did, did you specify a new IP address for use with that virtual server?

How did you create the SMTP connector (what settings did you input)?

The only thing I had happen that even comes close to this was when I set the authentication level to not accept anonymous connections.

Any additional info would be great!

Basically I just set up the connector and set up with the defaults and supplied the domain that it would service. The bridgehead needed to be supplied and I have it set not to relay. (Which does not make a difference now.) I did find that I can send e-mail to addresses on the outside. It is set to use DNS.

Frankly, I am stumped. I don't have an answer. I wish that I could help.

Hi Doior,

Did you ever resolve this issue? If so, please let me know.

Thanks,
