hi new to avaya.
currently looking to migrate existing g3r & g3si switches to utlise new Ip newtork for voice calls.

What is the minimum level of software and what additional hardware would i require.

Looking to get them hopefully to talk to some siemens switches via IP in the future.

thanks

Okay,
To get started with IP Telephony you will need I believe V9 or V10 with licenses for IP Trunking, IP phones or Soft phones. You also need at least one CLAN and MedPro board for your network connection. In short, once you have the hardware and software loaded you are ready to try IP.

Good luck,

the minimum to run it efficiently is r9.5..

But you should really be at R11 or higher.. R11 had much improved features/reliability over previous versions..

But if you're looking to make a change, go to R12.. Its the latest and greatest.

thanks

currenlty looking at retaining the analog phones and just using the IP connectivity for toll bypass.

what is the medpro board ?

regards

medpro board is the board that has the dsp resources and converts TDM/Analog to VoIP/IP Telephony..
