Is it possible to have 9620L IP phones in remote sites connecting to main office IP Office with dynamic IP address. We plan to have Sonicwall VPN router at main office and can we configure somehow using DynDNS?

sure i have like 10 VPN phones 46xx, 56xx and 96xx connecting back to my home network using DYNDNS.org. its free. there is a client i loaded on 1 of my servers that keeps My ip and name synced up all the time. it has worked very well.

Hi kwing112000.
What is the most cost effective way to connect? They want to have just one phone per remote site and dont have any servers there.

Only the one site were the IP Office resides need a fixed ip address, there you put either a VPN router were the VPN phones connect to or you use the new 8 feature with port forwarding.

If it ain't dutch it ain't much

That needs a fixed IP address as well.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

I never looked at the R8 vpn phone config, what a bummer... Did anyone ever had a hm... Draytek getting to work with VPN phones?

Drayteks don't do policy based VPN as far as I know, at least the few I have tried on don't, so no go :)

Thought so, i've read the docs first ( I am one of the few who first read and then act ) and these routers are primarily designed for SMBs VPN network access with PC's. The docs are very poor by the way, just in case a Draytek stumble on this thread.

Somehow those scrappy Netgears where easy to instal.
Too bad they where not stable most off the time.

I don't want a Netgear because a certain Maarten is fan of them..... that says enough.

Drayteks can be very troublesome with SIP and worse with remote phones, especially the later firmwares :)

i have configured dynamic dns on our 9620 and 9650 phones connecting to a sonicwall Tz210.. fixed ip address is not required.. im currently using R8
