Guys,

Hope you are all well. I need to be able to call from my home to pick up my voicemail messages on my IP Office 406. We have voicemail Pro

Just would like some pointers to get started!

We want to be able to call our number from outside the office and dial a shortcode or something that will allow us to pick up our voicemail remotely

Any help would be great

Shortcode with Voicemail collect to "?Anonymous" and DDI pointed to that, then when you dial in it will ask for your Ext then Password. If no password is set it will say "Remote access is not configured for this mailbox" so you need to set one!! It will be the same DDI for all mind!

You could add P(TELNUMBER) where TELNUMBER is the CLI to your source code in your user tab. You would call your DDI and when your voice begins press 8 which will go into your mailbox.

or point a DDI to VoiceMail and give your mailbox a password.
You will then dial the ddi, point in your ext id, point in your password and all will be fine.

ACA - IP Office Implement
ACA - IP Telephony
ACS - IP Office Implement
CCNA - Working towards.

Can this only be done with DDI as we have one Main Hunt Group number that rings all phones and we want to say if not answered then leave a message in the HUNT group and we can pick up the HUNT groups voicemail

Many Thanks

S

It still works, if you have set a password on the Huntgroups mailbox you can enter the huntgroups ext number and then password to retrieve the mail!!

Smorgan11,

Another, probably easier option, is if your main hunt group is an auto attendant (press 1 for this, press 2 for that, and so-on), just add a menu option of * and have it to go a "get mail" action.

On the "specific" tab pick "Default Start Points.Collect" from the drop down list next to "mailbox".

If you go this route you can pick up messages by simply calling the auto attendant and pressing *. I find this works best because you don't have to give people a different number to check messages.

I when possible set up what I call a backdoor Auto attendant. This AA is designed to take calls from non-customer/customer service type callers, and frees up the hunt groups, customer service people, and receptionists from taking calls they do not really need to.

Employess know the persons ext they want so they can transfer themselves, or they want their own VM retrieval. Suppliers/vendors/people you write checks to do not need to go through customer service, almost always talk to the same people, and can transfer themselves. Most people do not want to talk to someone before they talk to the person they already know, and know they need to talk to, so why make them. You do not take deliveries of goods, etc. through the front door so why take the calls through the front door for these types of communications. It works better for everyone, including reducing the number of people you need to have answering phones because they are only answering the calls which need them to answer. I usually add a leave mail action there also for when you just want to leave a message not talk to someone.

Ok just tried this and it does not work. I have a no answer time so that it goes through to the Hunt groups voicemail and i have created a shortcode *109 which is a voicemail collect to the hunt group. This works fine internally but what i want to be able to do is dial my work number 1234567 and then dial the shortcode *109 and go through to the voicemail of the hunt group. What happens at the moment is that it rings for 20 seconds and then goes thorugh to voicemail and there is no option to access voicemail via the shortcode

I unfortuately dont really work with IP Office so dont know how to set this up right or the Auto Attendant

Any Help to do this would be great

Many Thanks

S

Is this possible

Point a number to an AA greeting. Make star or pound point to a get mail action. Under the specific tab click mailbox and put in a ?

Works every time.
