Since I can "pull" a call out of voicemail using *46, I was wondering if anyone knew of a feature like Panasonic's feature called "Live Call Screening".

With Live Call Screening the person's voice can be heard through the speaker of a phone while they are leaving their message. You can press a button to "pull" the call out of voicemail.

Don't think it can, it's take it or leave it..:p
Also don't think Avaya will ever put that in their feature list. I never had a customer who had asked for it.

I can tell you it's one of those features that once you have it, you don't know how you lived without it.

Like Tivo.

i've had clients ask for it, and always just had to say no.

Maybe its time for a FR. I know i would use it a lot. I hate answering calls if i don't know who's calling.

See what my brain does when it's not thinking about phones.

Its a hidden feature that you can build. Create a sc and type in "I am afraid of you OR maybe not". ;)

And after your FR is approved ask them to put an automatic prepended greeting. "I am not going to answer the call until I hear what you are calling about. If you start to leave me a voicemail and I think it is important enough I'll talk to you."

A good feature for paranoids and for screening bill collectors OR just let vm cover. I suppose that if you wanted to only answer for the President or the Queen..... Then again you would probably know that they will soon be calling.

it is a nice feature because if you are on the phone and get another call and finish your call you can then hear who it is and if your mother in law leaves you a message you can quickly pick up (or not) and get the call and answer it properly.
The new partner ACS R8 has that feature :) you might want to sell a Partner system and then upgrade them once the Partner phones are compatible with IP office but they would still lose that feature most likely.

I don't suffer from insanity
I enjoy every moment of it :)

As I said, this is one of those features that once you have it you don't know how you lived with out it.

Got a feeling if we get it, it will eat another VM port while listening and so cause other issues :)

Gotcha. You love playing with the phone. My personal fav is the hold button. Kind of like...I'm done listening to you now!
But a close second is the speaker phone button where when activated all in the room can listen to the crazy person I am speaking with. In third place is the record button so that I can record the crazy person. I thought about changing the Advise of Recording wav to sound like a game show host. Like Heeeeeerrrreeees Johnny! Only it would say Reeeeeeeecording On.

Interestingly, this feature was available in the Quick Edition before it met its demise.

Technically it should be possible
I will give it some testing today

It does not work what i thought that could work
Maybe it is an idea for Avaya to add it to the visual voice
